ARISS I Agenda:

Administrative Session
1. On orbit hardware, status, Presenters: S. Samburov/F. Bauer

Sergey would like to keep the VC-H1 as a regular part of on-orbit hardware. One potential application of it would be the downlinking of pictures as part of school contacts.

2. Richard Garriott activities - recap, Presenter: W. Marchant

Frank is very excited and pleased with the high level of international cooperation that is making Richard’s flight such a wonderful success. Special recognition goes to Sergey Samburov for hardware preparation and launch, training, and coordination of Richard’s time; Will Marchant for coordinating on the ground Richard’s activities and setting up the website; Kenneth Ransom for setting up the blog and helping the team collect and archive the enormous numbers of SSTV images; Mark Steiner for helping get the VC-H1 hardware certified for flight; and the world-wide team supporting the pictures on the website.

The details of Will Marchant’s presentation are included in the attached Microsoft PowerPoint file:

Sergey Samburov thanked the international team for their support of this exciting flight. He also thanked Richard Garriott’s father, Owen, for his support. Sergey is glad that there was an opportunity to switch over to the newly-launched replacement hardware and that the VC-H1 was available to support this flight. He was happy to see the cooperation of the Russian and US teams that enabled the quick response to fly the VC-H1. Richard reports that he has been very active, with over a hundred voice contacts and over a thousand images. Sergey would like to see the amateur radio community give special recognition to Richard for all his activities.

Ken Pulfer thanked the folks working on Richard’s flight on behalf of the general amateur radio community. Frank noted that we have received an influx of volunteers from around the world.
