To celebrate its 90th Anniversary, the Associazione Radioamatori Italiani (ARI) – the main Italian Radioamateur Association – has established a special award called "ARI 90 Years" which is open to all Radio Amateurs and SWLs.
During 2017, from March 1 to December 31, many Italian stations will be active from different stations of the ARI Sections in all 20 Italian regions. These stations will use call signs starting with "IQ", (such as IQ0RR), or, alternatively, the Name of the Chairman or a Member of the Chamber, and will spend a special identifier called a SASC (ASC Special) in the format composed of (1) a letter, identifying their region, (2) the characters 90ARI, and (3) a number which is used to identify regions that have either one or more stations active: such as 1 or 2, etc.
Each month two of the 20 Italian Regions will be on the air. In March 2017 the Regions involved are: Piedmont - P and Sicily - T.
On April 22, as part of the International Marconi Day celebrations, 10 Marconian Stations will be on the air the prefix IY and SASC starting with the letter Y. One missed Region can be replaced by one SES or by one Marconian Station. Two missed Regions can be replaced by one SAS and one Marconian Station. All these SASC will be valid also for ASC-Award.
From May to December there will also two Headquarter Special Event Stations on the air that will give an SASC starting with the letter H.
To claim this award European stations must work at least 15 Italian Regions, Extra-European Stations at least 10 Regions. QSL cards are not requested. A GCR list is accepted. The Award is free and it will be sent as PDF file.
