In a few short days, operators across all 83 ARRL and Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) sections https://www.arrl.org/section-abbreviations will take to the airwaves to compete in the first of two ARRL November Sweepstakes https://www.arrl.org/sweepstakes events. Always a fall favorite “Sweeps” is the longest-running “domestic” contest. The CW event is November 1-3, while the SSB event is November 15-17. The action on both weekends gets underway at 2100 UTC Saturday and runs through 0259 UTC Monday (Sunday evening in continental US time zones).

(Additional information/reminder for Ontario hams) Only a few years ago, the boundaries for Ontario were changed and the province was divided in three section. The ARRL recognizes this change since 2012. Ontario North (ONN) All of northwest Ontario including Manitoulin Island, Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands, Killarney, the cities of Greater Sudbury and North Bay and Nipissing District. Ontario East (ONE) Algonquin Park, Renfrew, Hastings, Prince Edward, Haliburton, Peterborough and Northhumberland Counties, and the cities and counties to the east. Greater Toronto Area (GTA) The City of Toronto and the Regions of Halton (including the City of Burlington), Peel, York, and Durham. Ontario South (ONS) Parry Sound District, the counties of Simcoe, Grey, Bruce, Dufferin, Wellington, the City of Hamilton, the Region of Niagara, and the remainder of south-western Ontario.
