Objective: BC stations can contact anyone anywhere, while stations outside BC must catch the attention of VE7/VA7s.
Rules, exchange and multipliers, suggested frequencies, helpful hints -- mainly for BC operators but a starting point for anyone in a QSOparty -- and a schedule of same-day events -- to capitalize on QSO potential -- can be accessed from the BCQP page of the Orca DXCC website. Visit https://orcadxcc.org/bcqp.html
As always, top scores in every class will receive certificates, and if submitted logs are particularly numerous in any given category and/or certain results are particularly noteworthy, additional certificates are awarded, as was the case in 2014. The plaque program has been extremely well-received, with sponsorship increasing again this year. In 2015, we will have plaques in eight categories: Top BC Score, Top YL Score, Top Score Canada Outside BC, Top US Score, Most Electoral Districts Contacted, Top Rookie(year of licensing must be noted in soapbox section of log), Top DX, and Top Mixed Mode (new!). Certificates and plaques are photo-based, with a new picture each year. Definitely nice for the shack wall. The 2014 certificate and plaque photos can be viewed at https://www.orcadxcc.org/bcqp_awards.html Each year, more BC operators get involved in BCQP and call CQ. This solid on-air presence keeps the bands buzzing and makes time just fly by. Join Orca DXCC in BCQP 2015. A(nother) whale of a good time awaits!
