Subject: VE6AFO is the new RAC President
In accordance with the RAC Constitution, the RAC Board of Directors is
pleased to announce the election of Kenneth (Ken) Oelke, VE6AFO as President
of Radio Amateurs of Canada to serve for the balance of this year’s term.
This election completes the filling of open positions on the RAC Executive.
Like all Directors and Officers, the President is a volunteer, serving
Ken was born and raised in Alberta and works for Canadian Regional Airlines
as a Ground Equipment Mechanic. He gained his organizational skills while
serving as Emergency Coordinator, Secretary, Director, Vice President and
President of the Calgary Amateur Radio Association. Ken also served as the
Alberta/NWT Regional Director for the past 11 years, and was the RAC Field
Services Manager for five years. Ken credits his wife Linda-Lou, VE6LGO for
his overall inspiration during the many years he has been involved with
