2000-05-15

From: RAC Headquarters Date: May 15, 2000 Subject: Summary of the 2000 RAC AGM The Annual General Meeting of Members for Radio Amateurs of Canada was held at the NAV Canada facilities, Cornwall, Ontario on Sunday morning, April 30, 2000. Approximately 40 people were in attendance. RAC was welcomed to Cornwall by the Seaway Amateur Radio Club. The members present approved the audited financial report, which indicated a modest surplus. The President noted that the surplus was mainly due to major cutbacks in expenditures. The President also pointed out that the organization was facing a major challenge to increase revenues in the year 2000. BDO Dunwoody LLP (Ottawa) were appointed by the members as the auditors for the year 2000. The bylaw change with respect to the Board Deliberations by E-mail was approved by a majority of those present. The formal meeting was adjourned. The members were then afforded the opportunity to raise questions of general interest directed to the various members of the Board and Executive of RAC. Full Minutes of the Annual General Meeting will be posted at a later date on the RAC Web Site and in a future edition of The Canadian Amateur.
