From: RAC Headquarters Date: February 21, 2001 Subject: Ottawa Students to Talk to ISS Crew On Thursday Feb 22nd, students at Merivale Public School in Ottawa will be in contact with the astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS). VE3TBD will be operating the amateur station at the school. The contact will take place between 18:29 and 18:40 UTC (13:29 and 13:40 EST) The contact will begin with the space station over Texas. The ISS will be moving to the northeast, passing almost directly over Ottawa, so that listeners in Southern Alberta may hear a bit in the middle of the contact, while those in Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and the Maritimes should be able to copy almost the whole 11 minute pass. Listen for ISS on 145.8. Uplink frequencies will remain confidential until the contact.
