The ARRL would like to remind you of the new social media bonus that is being added to this year's Field Day!
Groups or clubs that are participating in Field Day together from a site that is open to the public can earn a 100-point bonus by actively utilizing one of the recognized Social Media platforms (such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) to engage the public in their Field Day activity. This bonus is not available for individual participants or for simply posting on your club website about your Field Day operations. It is for actively promoting Field Day using social media during the weekend. Groups may find it useful to designate one person to do so, such as their Public Information Officer (PIO). The official hashtag for Field Day is #arrlfd. This is an easy 100 points, so don't leave this on the table!"
Watch for the "Canada in the ARRL Field Day" contest results in a future issue of The Canadian Amateur magazine.

This year’s Field Day is a few weeks away. Whether your focus for the event is an Emergency Preparedness Display, a Public Service Demonstration or just an excuse to get on the air, the main thing is to have fun.
Contact your municipality for support, your news crews to drop by for important coverage to help raise the Amateur Radio profile within the community, and invite your government leaders to drop by your site.
For full Field Day rules and details, please see the text below or visit the ARRL website. Have fun!
