First off - thanks for receiving this note - it is because you are in my personal files as a Ham in BC or on a need to know about Geoff's upcoming visit.
Geoff was out to BC last fall - and had the opportunity to meet with a number of individuals and clubs in the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island. The feedback was very positive, and I know that Geoff learned a lot about BC, Amateur Radio and emergency communications.
Geoff is coming to BC again - near the end of July, 2014. He will be in town for the Pacific Northwest DX Conference - July 25 through July 27. He will also chair the Annual General Meeting for Radio Amateurs of Canada on July 27 - Sunday at noon.

Geoff is currently at his cabin in Northern Ontario - and has no Internet and his land line is also out - due to the flooding. He will likely be several days behind in reading and responding to emails. As I'm sure most of you are aware, a state of emergency exists in many areas of Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
His exact itinerary and whether he is driving out or flying is also a bit up in the air. We may be able to use that to our benefit as we try and schedule some visits.
So - Geoff will have some time in the Lower Mainland to catch up with any clubs he may have missed or who might want to meet again. I have recommended that he think about a swing up through the interior and then up through the Yukon. We are going to have to ask people to be flexible - as he will be travelling, likely by car, and it may only be dinner or coffee meetings that we can coordinate - rather than a full club meeting.
So - if you want off of this list - send me a note back and I will remove you. If there is someone who should be on the list - have them drop me a note and I will add them. If you or your 'group' would like to try and coordinate a visit with Geoff - let me know, and I will try and see what I can organize.
Appreciate it
Bill
