Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) is the national association for Amateur Radio in Canada and represents all Canadian Amateurs at all levels of government. Speaking on behalf of Canadian Radio Amateurs, RAC provides liaison with government agencies and carries the Amateur voice about regulatory and spectrum issues to the discussion table with government and industry leaders, nationally and internationally.
RAC is the Canadian voting member society of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU). RAC’s membership journal – The Canadian Amateur (TCA) magazine, Canada’s premiere national magazine devoted to Amateur Radio – is published six times per year and is available in both print and digital (eTCA) formats as a benefit to RAC members.

RAC National Executive and Regional Directors
Radio Amateurs of Canada is a not-for-profit membership association with its headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is a national organization, representing the interests of Amateur Radio all across Canada. Speaking on behalf of Canadian Radio Amateurs, RAC provides liaison with government agencies and carries the Amateur voice about regulatory and spectrum issues to the discussion table with government and industry leaders, nationally and internationally. RAC is the Canadian voting member society of the International Amateur Radio Union, (IARU). RAC also provides many services, publications and supplies to its members to enhance their enjoyment of Amateur Radio.
The overall management and policy determination of RAC is handled by the RAC Board of Directors which is composed of seven Regional Directors elected under the by-laws by the RAC membership: Atlantic Region; Quebec Region; Ontario North and East Region; Ontario South Region; Midwest Region; Alberta, Northwest Territories and Nunavut Region; and the British Columbia and Yukon Region.
The day-to-day operations of RAC are managed by the National Executive, who are elected by the RAC Board of Directors. The Executive consists of the following: President; Vice-President; Corporate Secretary; International Affairs Officer; Community Services Officer; Regulatory Affairs Officer; Chief Information and Technology Officer; Treasurer; and an Honourary Legal Counsel.

To assist the Directors and Officers there are Deputy Directors and Assistant Directors and also a number of management committees to handle various aspects of RAC’s operations.

RAC Board meetings are held by monthly teleconference and are chaired by the President. Minutes are posted once the draft minutes are accepted at the subsequent monthly Board teleconference meeting, but are subject to errors and/or omissions and to formal adoption by the Board at the next Annual Board Meeting.
All RAC Directors and members of the National Executive, including the President, are volunteers and serve without remuneration.
