RAC President Glenn MacDonell, VE3XRA, is at the Second Annual Board of Directors meeting of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) in Windsor, Connecticut.

In his introductory comments at the opening of the meeting he pointed out that Canada is celebrating its Sesquicentennial and that RAC had several initiatives to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary.

Later in the meeting he helped Bill Hudzik, W2UDT (Hudson Division Vice Director) access the RAC Canada 150 Award for the stations he had already worked (see below).

The meeting provides an opportunity to observe how the ARRL deals with various issues and opportunities that are often similar to those of RAC.

In the above picture, Glenn is helping Bill download the RAC Canada 150 Award for working 9 RAC stations. He made the contacts during the RAC Canada Day Contest and looks forward to making more during the balance of 2017.

ARRL Board Meeting

The annual Board of Directors meeting of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), is underway in Windsor, Connecticut and will conclude tomorrow January 21.

The ARRL provided the following information in a news report:

The full Board gathering will be preceded by new Director and Vice Director orientation and meetings of the Programs and Services and Administration and Finance committees.

The prime topic on the agenda will be the new Amateur Radio Parity Act bill, H.R. 555, just introduced in the US House.

In addition to discussing a wide range of FCC and regulatory issues, the Board will vote on the 2017 financial plan, elect members to the Executive Committee and to the ARRL Foundation Board of Directors, and designate new committee assignments. Second Vice President Brian Mileshosky, N5ZGT, will report on a study addressing revitalization of the Official Observers program.

The Board also will hear a report from the Entry Level License Committee, chaired New England Division Director Tom Frenaye, K1KI.

Radio Amateurs of Canada President Glenn MacDonell, VE3XRA, and International Amateur Radio Union President Tim Ellam, VE6SH/G4HUA, will attend as guests of the Board.”

Radio Amateurs of Canada’s President Glenn MacDonell, VE3XRA, is currently en route to Windsor, Connecticut for the annual Board of Directors meeting of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), which will be held on January 20-21.

The ARRL provided the following information in a news report:
