It was with great pleasure that I received an email from Scott Carter, VE3CGN today advising that his health issues are under control. He also volunteered to resume the duties of Section Emergency Coordinator. After a lengthy phone call about what has transpired on the national, Ontario, Section, and ARES Training Specification fronts during his 18-month absence he’s still keen to take on the responsibility.
Effective today, 9 July 2014, I’ve re-appointed Scott as Section Emergency Coordinator for a two-year term.
I know you will join me in wishing Scott best wishes as he continues to regain his health. Over the past 20 months we have come a considerable distance building up the ARES network in Ontario-South, particularly in the south-central area centred on London and in the Niagara Peninsula. As we head into a potential transition to a new Section Manager I particularly welcome the stability that Scott brings to the section management team. As the Assistant SM for ARES, Scott’s return to the fold lets me concentrate on the transition plan, and the continued development of the ARES training program. Please give Scott your full support – let’s be all that we can be.
73,
Ian Snow, CEC, VA3QT
