The retailers provide excellent door prizes and draws occur throughout the event. But there is lots more than just gear! Various organizations will have booths set up including: RAC, ARES, QCWA, the OARC, and other local clubs. There will be an Industry Canada Delegated Examiner on-site so that you sit an exam to get or upgrade your Amateur certification. If upgrading, please bring the 11-digit number on your existing certificate to speed up the processing. And once the hamfest closes down at noon, you can pay a visit to the nearby Diefenbunker, Canada’s Cold War Museum which in July 2022 was awarded a $600,000 federal grant for various upgrades.

Cost: Public $6; Vendors $14/table plus admission. To reserve a table (they have sold out in the past!) be sure to contact Ed, VE3WGO at He will be glad to answer any questions you may have and he is looking for volunteers to help run the event, so be sure to speak up if you can pitch in. Parking is free.
